The Beach is Calling and I Must Go!

As the 2022 summer season comes to an end and the tourist crowd thins, now is the perfect time to enjoy all that our Coastal Virginia beaches have to offer. Here are our top local beach picks!

Virginia Beach Oceanfront:
When the tourists go away, it's time for the locals to play! From casual beach bars to fine dining, live music and a classic 'day at the beach feel,' the 3-mile Virginia Beach Oceanfront is a playground for beach lovers of all ages.

Sandbridge Beach:
Looking for something a little more laid back? Head south to Sandbridge Beach. With 4.5 miles of beautiful coastline, there's room to spread out and enjoy a quiet beach day with your family. The Sandbridge Little Island Fishing Pier also makes the perfect backdrop for family photos.

First Landing State Park:
Did you know that First Landing State Park is Virginia's most-visited state park? We can see why as it's an oasis within urban Virginia Beach. The park consists of 20 miles of hiking trails and 1.5 miles of sandy Chesapeake Bay beach frontage. First Landing offers many recreational and educational activities and has many unusual habitats including bald cypress swamps, lagoons and maritime forest, as well as rare plants and wildlife.

Ocean View Beach Park:
This 6.5-acre beach park, is considered the jewel of Ocean View in Norfolk. The park has a large band shell for live music and dancing, a beach with lifeguards in the summer, a boardwalk, beach handicap access ramp, and lots of open green space.

Buckroe Beach:
Small but gorgeous, Buckroe Beach in Hampton offers a 3/4 mile stretch of coastline with panoramic views of the Chesapeake Bay. Sink your toes into the soft sandy beach, enjoy sparkling the gentle surf and watch ocean going ships prepare to arrive at their ports of call.

Yorktown Beach:
Located in historic Yorktown, this 2-acre beachfront is perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, and fishing! Yorktown Beach is also known for being handicap accessible. A Mobi-Mat was installed to accommodate walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers and to allow everyone to have accessibility to the beach. Mobi-Chairs are also available for disabled guests so they are able to physically get into the water.
